The new Samsung flagships are finally here and of course, you want to know what the two premium versions have to offer. We have compared both devices directly. Standing in the ring: Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G Vs Galaxy S20 PLus.



The comparison of the two larger flagships is like a frenzy for die-hard technology freaks. Mad camera, huge batteries, and better processors come together here. We have examined in detail what that means and how the two mobile phones differ.

Display: The screen in your hand

The display distinguishes both cell phones only at one point. At 6.9 inches, the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G is slightly larger than the Galaxy S20 + at 6.7 inches. Both smartphones are equipped with an Infinity-O-Dynamic AMOLED display. The camera with four lenses is no longer integrated across the back, but compactly at the top left. To protect against display damage, Gorilla Glass was used again. Both the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and the Samsung Galaxy S20 + are verified with IP68. It is therefore adequately protected from dust and splash water.


Performance: The processor of superlatives

The new Exynos 990 is in both smartphones. As always, a Snapdragon from Qualcomm will be used in North America. The new processor, which is manufactured using the 7 nm process, delivers a whopping 20 percent more power than its predecessor. The Exynos 990 is also 5G capable. The octa-core processor manages more than ten trillion operations per second. The developers paid special attention to AI. Augmented reality and virtual assistants take the smartphone to a new level. The Galaxy S20 + works with 8 GB RAM, the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G even offers 12 or 16 GB. Hardly any smartphone has such a large RAM.

Camera: megapixels over megapixels

In terms of camera, there are clear differences between the Galaxy S20 Ultra and the stripped-down version. The Galaxy S20 + still has a significant improvement over the previous Galaxy S10 +. The quad-camera resolves with a 12 MP wide-angle, 12 MP ultra-wide-angle and the 64 MP telephoto lens. Also, the ToF sensor is used, which ensures an even deeper image sharpness. The Galaxy S20 Ultra goes one better. The 108 MP wide-angle, 12 MP ultra-wide-angle and 48 MP telephoto lenses are an announcement. The ToF sensor is also used here. Indeed, the images captivate with their incredible intensity and sharpness.


The front camera snaps with 40 MP, the S20 + with 10 MP. Video recordings are possible with both mobile phones with up to 8k.

Battery and storage: Like a Boss

Both smartphones differ only partially in terms of battery and storage. The larger device has a battery with 5,000 mAh. The somewhat smaller S20 Plus offers a battery with 4,500 mAh. With a talk time of 23 hours, the cell phone lasts extremely long. The S20 Ultra has a talk time of 25 hours.

The external memory of both flagships can be expanded by up to one terabyte. The Galaxy S20 + is available with an internal memory of 128 GB. The S20 Ultra 5G will also be available with 512 GB.

The decision at the Battle Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G vs. Samsung Galaxy S20 + has fallen: Both smartphones are similar, they have the same display equipment and the Exynos processor. The main differences are in the camera. The camera of the S20 Ultra is significantly better than that of the S20 +. This is mainly due to the extremely high resolution.
